    Fine in Brisbane

    Hey guys, how are things?

    I got fined here in Brisbane for supposedly parking in a taxi zone, but I'm 100% sure that it wasn't one. On the fine photo, there's a taxi zone sign, but when i got to the place it wasnt there, it was just a regular parking zone sign.

    The photo at night is in the exact same day and place, as you guys can see by the building and the tree.

    Can anyone explain how tf did this happen? Did the officer use AI or some shit to change the sign? I always make sure that I don't make any mistakes in traffic.

    I would really aprecciate some help

      That’s really odd. Is the “fine” definitely from the Council did you check the website where you can look up the infringement?

      If the photo looks like that online then I think it would have been like that on the day and you missed it.

      Can’t imagine them having the time to Photoshop images.

      It becomes a taxi zone during events at nearby stadium usually Suncorp stadium or Gabba. They change the street signs during these times to the yellow ones. Was there an event on? There would have been signs all around the area.

      When parking around the gabba, the only spots that are safe with a match on are no limit areas. The rest can all get switched to taxi or drop n go zones where council makes a fortune in parking fines. Got me a couple times when I first moved to the area.

      Wait, they can change the signs while you’re already parked and then fine you? That’s wild.

      They can’t fine you if you were already there and they changed the signs without warning or notice. That’s just ridiculous. That then means any council can go on a “sign changing spree” and book all the cars at will to raise billions.

      First photo .. there is no sign, therefore cannot be guilty of a offence as you where unaware of the parking restriction as it was not conveyed in accordance with the law.

      Second Photo .. refers to Parking with No Limits. Therefore you can’t be fined, unless of course you didn’t pay the fee for parking. If you did, produce proof that you paid during the relevant time and restriction i.e. No Limits.

      Best taking the matter before a Magistrate and pleading for common sense to prevail.

      The Yellow Background is the giveaway to what has happened.

      Some parking zone signs are changed out on event days. These usually happen in the wee hours on the day of the event, and are changed back about 4 hours after the event.

      Unfortunately, the fine you copped, stands. The footage is damning

      A mate of mine had the exact same thing happen to him near the gabba too and he appealed to have the fine waived somewhere online stating he was unaware of how it changed. They just dropped the fine without any back and forth so hopefully you can too.

      Dontcha know??? You’re supposed to have a encyclopaedic knowledge of sporting events and the boundaries of ‘special areas’ if you wanna live in bris
