Clickbait. It’s about not labelling that they contain peanuts, so if you’re not allergic to peanuts then there’s no issue.

If you eat a “Nutty Nougat Caramel bar” and don’t foresee the risk of nuts then I think there may be bigger problems

Well they have to do that legally or they’re on the hook if anyone falls sick.
But Tesco recalling nutty chocolate bars because they contain nuts is actually quite funny in a sad way.
It’s like the warning to not iron clothes while wearing them. That’s because some peabrain has done that and blamed the manufacturer.

Really? The NUTTY Nougate Caramel Bar has nuts in? Who would’ve guessed…

Peanuts are legumes not tree nuts.
So while hilarious at face value, if you are allergic to peanuts and trust the labelling, this is a problem for you.

I get that newspapers are for-profit businesses that need the clicks, but I still find it frustrating that urgent public health announcements like these are hidden behind these vague clickbait headlines. People need to see this information, it should be immediately apparent what the product is and what the issue is. Imagine it was the Mail’s job to announce air raids, ‘Government announces exact time residents of certain North East city should take precautions over danger to life fears.’
