I don’t understand. Car sales? Where’s the AI? Where’s Optimus?

Would love to see how much of their income came from other Musk Companies (eg, selling cyber trucks to spacex)

Bro, am I reading this correctly? Half of their profits come from regulatory credits? If you remove the subsidies, they’re down to $2B profit all else held equal?

Tesla announced the end of two car lines at its Fremont factory and a switch to robot manufacturing. End of an era. The Chinese have won the EV market.

Where did the bitcoin losses go? I remember last year the headline was that the car business barely made any money and the mark-to-market gains on 2024 bitcoin holdings were carrying the EPS. But Bitcoin is down this year, did they not report the losses?

We’re supposed to buy that he’s building Optimus, the future of robotics that will be in every home and will replace every surgeon in the next ten years AND developing Tesla’s robotaxi. On a $6b R&D budget?

I never understand these plots. Why are operating expenses not a part of cost of revenue?

So if I’m reading these comments right, their market cap is so high because everyone is invested in it and doesn’t want to take the L?

Totally looks a company that should be spending billions on xAi stock and getting out of the car business to build robots to be our butlers.

One way of looking at this is that Tesla made almost all their profit this year from regulatory credits and interest, rather than selling anything.
Yes, money is fungible, I get that… but it kind of highlights one reason Musk had a falling out with Trump.

That’s a decline. A few years ago, they could show >10B in net profit.
Hence, the campaign to rebrand as a robot company. Tesla cars are getting less profitable without a good path to recovery for them.
