  1. How are people so incredulous? The party has been around for nearly a century, and it’s always been filled with the biggest scumbags and dipshits. They have never been good at governing, leading, managing the economy, they have always been good at looking after the top end of town who they hang out with, and send their kids to school with.

How are people surprised that the ‘conservative’ party is full of people that would have a problem with women in leadership positions, and would be willing to sell their own mothers for a quick turn around, would be willing to plan a leadership coup of their woman leader on the day of the funeral of a woman member of their party?

A party that stands against the interests of working people (most working class people are women), social safety nets (tend to be more beneficial for women), against addressing almost any social issue (women tend to be more impacted by any issue you can imagine), and just straight up against women (abortion, divorce, Queer rights, actually addressing domestic violence without resorting to cops, who are likely to be abusers themselves), obviously has a problem with women. One that cannot be solved by placing some pick-me’s in prominent positions, because the status-quo/past that a conservative party is trying to conserve/roll back to was bad for women, any woman trying to reform the Liberal party would be undermining her own capacity to do so by advocating for the party.

  2. Liberals have to be the worst Australian electoral party we have ever had. I hope that students learn about their incompetent failures in politial science, in future.

  3. Part of me wonders if the big swing to One Neuron is Libs being angry about having a woman leader and trying to make a statement. (Yes the irony of switching votes to a party founded and led by a woman does not escape me)

Just shows the type of people that gravitate to the Liberal Party.

    Callous.

    Uncaring.

    Power hungry.

    No care for others.

    Only for themselves.

    Ignorant.

    Politicising.

    Greed.

    Controlling.

The list of negatives goes on.

They aren’t doing this for the betterment of Australia or the Australian people. They want to control – total and absolute.

  5. While I would agree that there is some clear misogyny within the conservative part of the party of that there is no doubt. To use that as the only reason Ley is under pressure is disingenuous. She is hopeless and as far as I have seen hasn’t shown any leadership since taking over from the disastrous choice of Voldemort himself.
In saying this come next election it doesn’t matter who is leading the party they won’t win unless they completely change course

Oh so now the mess is being framed as misogyny, is it?
Not a hopeless politician, like all her detractors were saying when they were calling for her head for the last month.

I don’t care about LNP, her or the memorial frankly. One drama after another, it’s boring and repetitive at this point.

Why is anyone surprised? This is the LNP. Squabbling over the power to steal from the public is in its DNA.

  9. Don’t make this about gender.
They are dumping her because she’s an idiot. It was widely predicted that she wouldn’t last and that it was a sacrificial position to allow the Libs to rebrand themselves following their humiliation.

Unfortunately thier best bet, Hastie, doesn’t have support in the party because he’s up against Taylor who is arguably the most openly corrupt person we have ever had in aus politics.
