OK, now I am curious who made the proposal for the budget and who approved it.

Well if I’ve learned anything it’s that r/finland hates Americans who have Finnish grandparents say anything about it… Is it different for Canadians?

I’m not sure who, what agency in Canada Pamela is referring to when she said “they won’t let me change my name”.

Imagine coming home after a long day and there’s 3 billboards near your apartment stating your name and saying “Come to Brazil”

This is maybe a dumb question but why do care at all about their roots? Is it something like a hobby to some people? Both sides of my family trace their ancestry back to the Qashqai people of the the Middle East, the original creators of the Nissan Qashqai (kidding of course) but Iโve never really been interested to learn more about where they came from. I figure whoever they were they were mainly concerned about having enough food to survive, having shelter, having access to clean water, etc just like I am today. But it doesnโt really change much about my life if I care about or heavily study or identify with my roots. Iโd much rather identify with the culture of where I live and plan on working.
When I lived in the US I was kind of shocked how much people cared about their roots and the history of their close relatives. Then you had those kinda strange people who heavily identified with their Nordic roots despite not knowing shit about the Nordics and never having visited or lived there. I always thought it was odd, but hey I guess weโre all weird in our own way.
