I thought they were going to say there is a big mountain underneath the giant red spot storm. More oxygen than expected and slower gas diffusion than expected is interesting I guess.
They hint at some implications for solar system formation but didn’t really explain how or why Jupiter accumulated this extra oxygen.
Also I’m wondering if they are counting things like CO2 as oxygen, as in total mass of the element oxygen is greater than expected, or they mean actual oxygen O2 like the stuff we breath.
Because I was under the impression O2 is highly reactive and barely exists anywhere unless there is life producing a steady stream of it faster than it gets used up by chemical reactions.
It’s already revealed the Great Red Spot.
