Which peak? I can’t figure it out from the photo.
Woke up way too early this morning to summit one of Colorado’s 14ers (a mountain over 14,000 ft tall) for sunrise. When I pulled up to the trailhead (which is nearly 4k ft below the summit) the car was reading 9 degrees. That combined with about 25 mph gusts made for a super cold morning! I had picked Mount Bierstadt because the moon would be perfectly aligned between Grays and Torreys at sunrise. Was hoping there would be a little more snow to showcase the “Snow Moon”, but Colorado is currently experiencing a record low snowpack.

The slight bends on the horizon caused by the shadows of the mountains are incredible!
Sad there is no snow, record low in the west. Hasn’t been this bad since 1981
