  1. Woke up way too early this morning to summit one of Colorado’s 14ers (a mountain over 14,000 ft tall) for sunrise. When I pulled up to the trailhead (which is nearly 4k ft below the summit) the car was reading 9 degrees. That combined with about 25 mph gusts made for a super cold morning! I had picked Mount Bierstadt because the moon would be perfectly aligned between Grays and Torreys at sunrise. Was hoping there would be a little more snow to showcase the “Snow Moon”, but Colorado is currently experiencing a record low snowpack.
