I contend these things, along with the cassowary, are the proof that birds are just dinosaurs.
But also, yes, don’t feed them, even stuff that’s fine for them (which I think grapes are? they eat plants, at least). Around touristy places, that encourages them to approach people, many of whom will feed them *not* appropriate foods, like chips.

These guys are already so confident approaching picnickers, last time my partner and I were at the gardens we had two of them hovering over our shoulders the whole time, and the next blanket over got a packet of bikkies snatched while they weren’t paying attention.
Cute, sure, but no hand feeding unless you’re planning to take them home.

I was at an event in a local park in Melbourne last month and I pointed at one of them and said “what do you guys call those here in Aussie?” and “swamp hen” was the answer I got.
“Back in NZ we call them pukeko” I said.
Their response was “that sounds like a typical New Zealand made up word, like Waikikamukau” 😁
