Kalinga | This is simply a public awareness notice for anyone who takes their dogs to Kedron Brook, particularly around Kalinga Park, and allows them to swim in the water. There have been several shark sightings reported over the past couple of days in different spots along Kedron Brook most recently near Kalinga Park. This post is not intended to cause fear, just to provide a friendly heads up to the community. Update Apparently people are also swimming in Kedron Brook, this alert is now for all humans and pets.. maybe avoid swimming in these waters. Better to be safe than Sorry.
Update | See video in comment, the shark sightings appear to be of a blacktip reef shark, they do not consider humans or large animals prey, they eat small fish however may but out of curiosity or if provoked, especially in shallow water.

It’s a bullie not a reef shark.

Wild. When I lived on Shaw Road locals used to swim at the bend in the creek just up from Kalinga Park. You could smell sewage in it after a heavy rain so I never swam there.
So we are positive that that isn’t a crocodile?
From the video it doesn’t look like the creek at kalinga park, it’s way too wide open.
Maybe down lower near the motorway bridges.
I don’t doubt that this is kedron brook, there’s sharks in every estuary, but I’ve been to the creek at kalinga a lot and I can’t think of an angle which looks like that.
awesome
So it isn’t the fish, I’m just bad at fishing ðŸ˜
You’re gonna need a bigger boat
This is fake, seen this shark the other day up in redcliffe
