CATL has unveiled a new fast-charging electric vehicle battery that could reshape how drivers think about charging time and battery life.
The announcement came last week as the Chinese company, officially known as Contemporary Amperex Technology Limited, shared fresh performance data for its new 5C battery platform.
The firm says the technology can fully charge in about 12 minutes while lasting well beyond a million miles, a claim that targets one of the biggest concerns holding back wider EV adoption in the US and globally.

And here I am driving 75-100+ miles a day, plugging into a 3.8KW charger at home that more than meets my daily needs (even in sub zero temperatures) going … That’s neat. EVs are already more than viable and everyone overestimates/oversells charging solutions.
