  1. Is the high mortality on US roads purely due to the higher mileage rates of the average person?

    A score more than four times higher than Germany is a lot.

  2. The child mortality rate in the US is hilariously high. I wonder if there is any correlation with the high homicide rate…

  3. a lot of this seems like it’s hugely variable depending on what metrics/methods each country uses for reporting. “death rate due to air pollution?” how on earth do you control for that kind of thing? and how is each country defining a ‘child’ when determining child mortality rate?

  4. The colors are awful. Took me most of the way down to realize they are ordinal. Use a monochrome scale next time

    Little confused with the average working hours for Japan. I always thought they work longer hours than the average American. Do they get longer holidays on average?

    Ok how bad must China traffic safety be that it has a higher death rate than India, which is basically a more dangerous version of Fury Road.

  7. Quality of life in Germany or generally in western/nothern Europe is unbeaten. Only exception is if you wanna work alot and get rich then its the US.
