I would have also like to have seen median wage (in PPP)

Is the high mortality on US roads purely due to the higher mileage rates of the average person?
A score more than four times higher than Germany is a lot.

The child mortality rate in the US is hilariously high. I wonder if there is any correlation with the high homicide rate…

Nice chart. Don’t drink the water or breathe the air in India.

a lot of this seems like it’s hugely variable depending on what metrics/methods each country uses for reporting. “death rate due to air pollution?” how on earth do you control for that kind of thing? and how is each country defining a ‘child’ when determining child mortality rate?

The colors are awful. Took me most of the way down to realize they are ordinal. Use a monochrome scale next time

Little confused with the average working hours for Japan. I always thought they work longer hours than the average American. Do they get longer holidays on average?

Ok how bad must China traffic safety be that it has a higher death rate than India, which is basically a more dangerous version of Fury Road.

USA traffic death rate being very close to India is wild.

Quality of life in Germany or generally in western/nothern Europe is unbeaten. Only exception is if you wanna work alot and get rich then its the US.

I’d like to see this viz but with California separated into its own column. I’m curious how their economy impacts the overall US economy.
