Hi! About a week ago my Nintendo switch broke (it refused to charge in its port or on USB C) and now the screen has been bright orange for a couple days.
I’ve called around JBHIFI, Harvey Norman, Computer Alliance, EB Games and no one seems to do repairs unless the switch was bought at the store (I got mine as a gift 8 years ago so not sure where it’s from). Does anyone know where I could get it repaired or whether it’s time to say goodbye 🥲

What part of Brisbane North south side gogling no tendo switch repair brings up a few console places in Brisbane
“Electronic repair” in google maps. I don’t know anyone near me who specialises in console repair but if you give a call to any reputable place in google maps and ask I’m sure they’ll let you know. Assuming it’s the screen that’s died and not the main board it’s probably worth repairing, a USB-C repair wouldn’t be much either as that’s typically just resoldering a new plug which would take someone experienced a few minutes. if you’re not worried about losing your data you can probably get a second hand or even a new switch for a reasonable price these days. The local small guys are normally the best!
Good luck!
I did see in another post the other day there was mention of a nintendo experienced repairer on the north side. Someone was looking for a DS repair. I noticed because I was looking for one also, but I am southside. I’ll edit if I find it.

Just buy another one. Its a dead mobo from what I’ve seen
EB games will absolutely do repairs on the switch even if it wasn’t bought there. You’ll just have to send it off to head office which takes about 2-3 weeks depending how busy they are (this time of year they’re not so)
Just want to check, you have tried to do a hard reset by holding down the power button for around 10 seconds?
Does it turn on and off. Just goes orange when on?
Full write up on cause here. Looks to be the wifi card.

Ace console repairs in Ashgrove. That guy is amazing. He has fixed my son’s switch twice now. Can even watch a live stream while he fixes it!
Tech Outpost
Besides the specialist repairers mentioned in other comments, you should also try phone repair shops as well. In many ways, a Switch is very similar to a phone.
$159 at EB Games, assuming just the console and not joycons.

This guy is very good. Fixed my switch in 30 minutes.
Have you considered contacting Nintendo support and ship it down to their Melbourne service centre?
