Sorry for my language but I fucking can’t stand media these days that reports about people’s reactions about something, rather than just reporting about the event. There is not one single thing in this world where some reporter can’t find some numpty expressing his or her opinion on any side of the issue. So it’s just a way to push the reporter or the publication’s barrow, whatever that might be. “Aussies outraged” yeah no shit take one look at twitter and you can find Aussies outraged about any old shit.

As an Aussie I’m furious…. with this headline.
This is not really sudden or new.
>> construction firms involved in the tender process warned that the steel ribs installed in 1988 had reached the ‘end of their life’. ‘The heritage revitalisation will retain the iconic shape and form of the Wran and Galleria buildings while upgrading them for decades to come,’
Remember, the Liberals wanted to move what they could to Parramatta (we would have lost pieces that couldn’t move) and sold the site to developers.
This plans keeps the museum.

Minns overseeing an icon of his Labor predecessors being torn down does seem poetically fitting somehow.

I can see that DailyFail links aren’t popular here, and with good reason, but I couldn’t find a better source with pics of the ongoing demolition.

I have very fond memories of taking my eldest son to the powerhouse museum when he was little. Lots of weekends and when I was made redundant, on the weekly.
Desperate to have something like that again for my youngest. Fingers crossed for the para version is good

Why are we linking to the daily mail?

They do know they can still visit the same exhibits in the new building, right?
