It makes it even worse – white shirt guy did absolutely nothing wrong and yet copped it.

I don’t love the wording from Aunty here. “Important context was missing” and then the longer video and context doesn’t change anything.

Is anyone even surprised? Did anyone really think that an extended video would somehow show the cop in a positive light?

All the shills telling me “what happened before this tho?!?” …like the guys a psycho agitator or something.

Uncoordinated cop falls over himself. Brave colleagues valiantly defend their fallen comrade by beating the shit out of a bystander.

Looking at the facial expressions on the police officers is telling.

This shit is enough for me to put labor last on the nsw election.

It looks like someone either deliberately wiggled on fell into his bike then a completely innocent bystander got beaten up for it. I didn’t see this incident person but was a few metres back. And once that happened it was the start of the escalation. That riot cop needs to be fired. And I may be wrong but I’m pretty sure that’s the guy I remember with the pepper spray canister.

Will people here stop trying to defend the fucking police now? It was already obvious to anyone with eyes that they were entirely in the wrong, but now there’s just no more excuses. You defend them, you defend unprovoked police brutality against innocent people.
**ACAB.** That doesn’t stop applying when it’s our own, and this should be a serious wake up call to those who believe it does, that it’s solely a yank problem. They’re *all* bastards. It is a systemic issue, and there is no such thing as a good cop (whether that’s because they’ve already been filtered out of the system, or because they happily stand by and let their fellow officers do shit like this).

Those officers should be stood down immediately. It is not safe for the public to have armed enforcement who act and escalate in this completely unprofessional way.
However, the real problem, these anti protest laws are bad laws.
Peacefully demonstrating a cause is NOT VIOLENCE, it is NOT ANTI POLICE, it is NOT ANTISEMITIC and it is DEFINITELY NOT UNAUSTRALIAN (despite what Tony Abbot says.
The underlying narrative of us vs them is completely unacceptable and must be quashed.
Mr. Abbot wrote the book on “battle lines” and trying to engineer us vs them conflict. It served him very well politically but it does Australia no service at all.
I can’t think of more Australian qualities than to show up and call out dickhead acts (like bombing civilians) or putting your support behind a targeted group. These values are not partisan and they apply just as much to the community’s reaction against the appalling acts at Bondi.
It is entirely appropriate to invite a foreign leader to our country, to show hospitality, and to have some serious discussions while they are here.
It is also right and proper for Australians to voice and demonstrate what they think of those actions.
The terrible anti protest laws should be binned immediately. Media must be more responsible in discussing hard and contested issues without furthering division.
And police should be completely empowered to act for community safety and they should do so in a way that maintains the esteem of their privileged position. (It is frankly not fair on them to have to be policing bad laws).

So lemme get this right – we got someone in a hat who probably briefly touched the cops, whether on purpose or by accident I dunno. That then provoked the cops to try and grab that guy, which White Shirt Man responded with like a Hey Hey Let’s Just Calm Down For A Sec type shit…
Then Bike Cop unironically **pushes White Shirt Man** and the rest is what we’ve already seen.
So Bike Cop was ***literally instigating violence.***

As an aside I really hope he’s doing ok both physically and mentally. I know I’d hate to be made ‘famous’ by having my rights impeded by cops and having that video go viral for the whole nation debate – especially when what really happened is so obvious.

We are not a police state. The police should officially apologise and pay compensation. Anything less is unacceptable.

They all knew they could be violent without getting sued so they took advantage of that. They were all gagging for a night of lefty bashing, you could smell it on them.

I’m so disappointed that I have a mate who proudly proclaims his indigenous heritage while living a very privileged life (through his own hard work to be fair) and he shared a beat-up video from some random radio station about how the protestors were “all to blame” and his remarks in the video was “it’s about time” the cops did what they did
