This is the moment where I am lost for words. We collected the full amount (PLN 5,500) needed for an urgent operation to remove the eye and save Lapi’s life!

My mother cries – this time with happiness and relief. Just a week ago, looking at her pension (PLN 600), she was terrified of losing her only friend. She felt powerless against the system and the disease. Today, thanks to your incredible solidarity, this fear has disappeared.

You have shown that you are not indifferent to the fate of an elderly person and their pet. Thank you to the amazing community r/Polandbut also to Warsaw local groups on Facebook. Special thanks to Bartek Wejman from Radio Kolor. It was your mobilization that made the impossible possible in just a few days.

Important information:

1. We arrange a date for histopathological examination and enucleation (removal of the eye) as soon as possible. I will keep you updated and post photos after the surgery.
2. According to the portal’s schedule, the collection will be active for a while 78 days (I didn’t think the goal would be achieved in such a short time).
3. I want to be honest with you: every penny donated above the threshold of PLN 5,500 will be allocated for Relieving the burden on my mother’s budget. With a pension of PLN 600, any surplus will allow her to buy a supply of good food for Lapi, litter or pads, without worrying whether she will have enough for her own medicines or food.

For the first time in a long time, my mother felt some financial peace in caring for her friend.
