My friend got a parking fine after being parked behind a row of townhouses. Two other cars were parked up behind him but didn't get fined. He wasn't oddly parked up near the intersection either.
Because it's just a piece of paper with no real details about the penalty we thought it was a prank by the neighbours.
Otw back a patrol car was roaming the estate and he got them to stop and asked if it was real. They said it was! apparently a fine will be mailed to him later on. Never seen VicPol issue such a fine with zero details and completely ignoring the two other cars parked in the same way he was.

cool,
sounds like you’re wanting to rant about the fine, but no info provided on parking situation to confirm if your friends car and or the other cars deserved fine.
psa that cops can issue parking fines? that’s kinda good I suppose, you’d have to be parking illegally, and not just over the paid time limit.
Cool. Please provide evidence of how the car was parked. The police do not issue parking fines for no reason, there has to be a very good reason.
Wait for the fine and it’ll tell you why
Wha happened to placing a fine on the windshield?
Fines are now created electronically and are no longer handwritten. For parking offences they are posted to the registered owner similar to speed camera fines.
Looks like the police members in this case have left a physical note on the car using the sleeve that tickets used to be placed in as a notification to the owner/driver prior to a fine turning up in the mail a few days later.
I suspect this is a fake notice as it is written in the stilted and vague grammar off a bad Ai piece.
It’s bc too many people have used the “it blew away in the wind” argument. Mailing anything formal, including an infringement, is more and more standard now.
I thought only council could issue parking fines?
Can confirm these are legit envelopes used by VP. Given fines are now generated off the mobile devices there’s no way to indicate a fine had been issued to either council or other police members, so this is just a visual indicator that one has been issued. A fine will be mailed to the registered operator in the near future.
You’ll get it in the mail
