  2. As always. Old people are in favor because “We did it so you all must suffer too” (Most PIS voters are already on retirement).

And as always, those who would be forced say no to it. I have seen one survey from 2022 and it turns out women are away more in favour of mandatory conscription than men (My body not my choice?)

  3. How was the Polish conscription back when it existed, did it produce useful combat capable troops or was it just a waste of time?

Let me guess, the ones “for” are way beyond the age or gender for military service.

  5. let me guess, the half that said yes are the ones who would be exempt?

whats stopping those in favour of signing up?

  6. Poland knows better than anyone the importance of defense after WW2. The Baltic states, Finland and Moldova should also arm themselves to the teeth now as they could be next on the chopping board.

  7. Yeah and that “half” consists of people who will never be subjected to it, meaning women and old men. FUCK RIGHT OFF.

Good, Europe needs to wake up and realize Russia might not be the only big enemy in the future. Trump has shown us how quickly an ally can turn into an adversary. A wise man once said, if you’re not sitting at the table it’s because you’re on the menu.

In Croatia there are ads saying how good it will be bla bla and cut to that they will pay 90% of soldiers pay and its 1100€. No wonder none wants to go to army.

Shit, why don’t the people who are for military service voluntarily sign up for it then?
52% of the population that supports this would be more than enough. Additionally, you get people that are super into it, not some reddit IT nerds /s
But seriously, I am always frustrated when they run those same interviews in my country, and the majority of people not affected by it, swear by it.

  11. To all the people here replying “it’s actually men that support it!” CBOS studied people’s opinions on the fairness of male only conscription and such are the results: [https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fmindless-monday-08-december-2025-v0-9n3vdpeei46g1.jpeg%3Fwidth%3D1080%26format%3Dpjpg%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3D385fd4418d16d6a3600efe62f83b00bab616c5ed](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fmindless-monday-08-december-2025-v0-9n3vdpeei46g1.jpeg%3Fwidth%3D1080%26format%3Dpjpg%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3D385fd4418d16d6a3600efe62f83b00bab616c5ed)

On the average basically the same, and in the youngest demographic women are vastly more in favour of conscripting men.

So, sign up then? If all of these people sign up, no need for mandatory service.

Oh, it’s just fucking boomers again?

  13. Have they discussed how long it would be? Being so close to Russia, I imagine it would be an unwelcome but necessary thing to have. But I personally would hate having no choice in it, but again, if I was so close to a country that enjoyed war as much as Russia, I’d atleast understand.

  14. Problem with this is mandatory military service should only be voted on by those who are going, or are already serving.

Otherwise the overpopulated boomer generation will vote yes because they will never have to be the ones in the frontlines. Or fighting at all

My life should not be voted on by people who haven’t even lived in the same fucking world as me

  15. I know 0 people under 50 that say “yes” to this bullshit. Let’s build a few submarines and some nukes, I’m confident will be left alone after that.

  16. If I’m ready to give my life for my country, this doesn’t mean anyone else do. This is bullshit. We need to absolutely exclude from voting on issues the people whom it doesn’t affect, so that men wouldn’t be able to vote for/against abortions (a painful problem for Poland), and people who are not able to be conscripted or won’t be able to conscripted in the next two years wouldn’t be able to vote for/against conscription.

  17. Typical.

Here, it’s either women and old guys (50+) who are salty the younger generation didn’t have to waste 2 years of their life. I expect everywhere to be the same.

  18. One of the best things you can do for your population. That said, high level of direction is needed in the training.

  19. Poland (and the Baltic States) should consult Finland. The Finns are the experts in this and polls there show they’re mostly for it.

It’s mandatory military service (6-12 months depending on role and then becoming reservists) for territorial defense, not imperial power projection.

  20. Im guessing its old conservative men who were in the army during communist times and think young men should also join the army to “mature”
