I surmise it is lutefisk, or something resembling to lutefisk. They dropped prices to 50 cents per kg for expiration date this week.

I like it but try to find one that’s made of cod. Do it in the owen and serve with melted butter + salt and pepper.
Have you eaten lipeäkala/lutefisk before?
Some people like it, but most people don’t.
I personally like it. Not every day, but once or twice per year with a good white pepper sauce with lots of butter and potatoes, it’s good.
That specific package from K-market, no experience from that one. It’s skinless that quite untypical. But really cheap, I would probably buy it. Lipeäkala season is mostly before/after christmas. That specific one seem to be made by swedish company. This year we bought one from hätälä, it was made from molva/”common ling”. It was good, pretty much zero fishbone that was nice.

Lipeäkala soup is top tier Finnish christmas food. Really good. I’ve never tried it cooked in any other way though.
