Stumbled on this video of a French criminal admitting in court he wants to work in Switzerland to get rich.

With recent cases of French criminals allegedly breaking labor laws that caused deaths, I wonder how common it is for criminals to come here to start a new “get rich quick” life?

We all know that there are lots of people like this.
But there are also many who have a good  education and realistic expectations. The former is probably also not very successful in his home country.

  2. What he says has nothing to do with him being a criminal. He is right after all, payment is better in Switzerland. And hey, for earning 4k in Switzerland you don’t need to be a criminal, so maybe he plans to improve himself with a legit job ;-).

  3. Yeah, honestly not surprised. And we are too lenient.

People that know how to behave deserve our support. We are far to strict here. But people we KNOW are bad people don’t deserve to take the spot of someone good.

  4. I’ve worked with many lower-wage earners in Switzerland (specifically in the “Gastro” branch) who come to Switzerland for specifically the reason to earn more money. In the past year alone, I have seen 2 Portuguese return to Portugal, 1 Spanish return to Spain, and 1 South American return to South America. Coming here without realistic expectations is setting oneself up for failure and disappointment.

  5. Highly unprofessional, yet typical for judges. What does this have to do with the accusation? Why can she ask any question she is just curious for the answer? Is this a chit-chat? Probably her questions are not even in the court record, just the answers. He is exposed and she is fine.

  6. Omfg, this sub can be insufferable sometimes.

1)From this short clip, it looks like he got caught with some weed. It’s a looong stretch to call him a criminal. ( There might be more to it, but OP only provided this clip)

    2) working for 4000 a month… I wouldn’t really call it a get rich quick scheme)….

    3) can you fucking blame him?? I work in an industry that is employing more and more frontaliers ( dunno how It’s called in English).
Am I jealous that they start building houses in France after 3 months of working here while i live in a shitty apartment? Definitely!
Am I pissed that my salary will never even get close to following the inflation because they can hire someone for 40-50 % less? Of course!

But they are not to blame… I would be doing the same in their shoes
