Hello, everyone, I’m a first-time driver in Switzerland. When I returned from lunch, I found a parking fine on my car. I had already paid the fee, but I forgot to leave the ticket in the car because I didn’t know I was supposed to. Can I appeal this? If so, where do I file an appeal? Thank you very much.

You can try to contact the police, although if you have paid you have probably automatically accepted it.
In any case, the fine is about “not exposing the ticket on the windshield”. It doesn’t matter if you have it. I appealed once (before paying) and the fine was canceled, but that was the explanation I received.
just fyi QR codes have redundancy built into them and you can recover the data even if only the partial code is visible. if you want to make them not readable you should completely black them out. doesn’t matter for this particular qr code as it doesn’t contain any sensitive infos
1. The first scentence on the tickety says “you have to place the tickt in a visibsle place inside the car”
2. Check with the authorities if you can. Dont ask reddit 😉
3. That qur code is still readable. If you want to censor stuff, do it right
Happened to a friend. Fine stands as you need to display. Maybe they make an exception, often not as it’s too much hassle – plus who knows if it’s your ticket or someone else’s (friend) in the same spot.
Had this happen to me, I appealed
The response was “ticket was not clearly displayed therefore the fine must be paid’
That was it and I paid the fine – won’t make the same mistake again
I would definitely contact the police and try to get it cancelled. Tell them you are a foreigner and don’t understand the sentence on the ticket.
I’m very glad that these kind of parking tickets are going slowly extinct. Most of these are replaces with ones, where you register your nr plate and don’t have to walk back to your car. That way you can also pay with parkingpay or twint
It clearly states that you have to display it. You can however try to get it cancelled. Tell them your circumstances (didn’t know the language) and show them proof that you paid for it by showing the ticket and (as I see you paid with your card) a bank statement (if you would have paid in cash, this would have been a bit harder), which will clearly show that you bought it. Maybe they’ll show some leniency, maybe not, as you are – unfortunately – in the wrong. But don’t get your hope too high up: the Swiss tend to be sticklers for rules.
No, it’s literally the first sentence on your parking ticket. Use google lens or something if something is written out, as it often is an explanation.
(Not) knowing (this applies to traffic rules too) is your responsibility.
Parking fine is btw along the cheapest you can get away with.
You can try going to a station and talking to a police officer. I doubt it will work and is it really worth the trouble? I would just pay the fine and chalk it up to lesson learned.
You can try, but it wont work. Next time you will make sure, that the ticket is VERY visible. I think.
Why should there be a chance to appeal? You have broken the rules, so pay the fine and stop crying!
See it as a lesson to read whats written on the ticket and/or on the machine and otherwise face the consequences!
Learn and accept that the rulles applies to everyone the same!
