Privacy and freedom online used to be taken for granted
Ironic, considering the ID checks with Persona (a company with many violation lawsuits) and the VPN crackdowns done by Karen Starmer.
Hope y’all realize your privacy shouldn’t be made obsolete and that age checks aren’t “saftety”. All the governments saw what Discord communities are able to do (get their hands on secret documents, help Nepalese people overthrow their government and host all sorts of “dangerous for the political class” communities) and now are moving into complete surveillance.
Good, if American Big Tech can’t comply with the Online Safety Act, ban them.
We all need to. Writing from Ireland.
“Brits looking to Europe for…” is kind of a meme these days
People say they would change but in reality nobody does it.
>Entire western world are turning their backs on US Big Tech
At the very least with Google Workspace accounts you can select the region and servers that store your data are in and can stay away from the US. Imperfect, but for those deeper into these systems that find it harder to extricate themselves and their businesses it is a small consolation prize.
US big tech is creepy and by that I mean they’re a paedo cult
