Queensland is lacking bags of O- blood, which is also at "low" in Australia as a whole.

Doesn't mean other types aren't needed. Whatever you can give is appreciated.

Those of us who can't physically donate, please help by sharing this post or the website (https://www.lifeblood.com.au/donors/blood-plasma-platelets/blood-supply-levels)!

Been personally saved by the generous donations in the past, the act of giving blood is close to my heart.

If you're looking to make a positive impact tonight, book yourself a seat, share online, or bring it to the dinner table.

Godddammm stop using all my 0-
Start using A for A etc.
    I’m sucked dry.

But really. Go donate blood. It’s fine and you get snacks and have 15mins chillin out to yourself

  2. I’m in kind of an awkward situation with them atm. They keep ringing me all the time.

I was giving blood regularly for ages until the last 3 times I tried to give their machine kept beeping aggressively and a nurse had to keep coming over to silence the noise. After 2 nurses got annoyed with me, a third nurse kindly explained that it was beeping because apparently the flow or pressure was too slow.

Then I thought maybe I’ll have more luck giving plasma and was told my veins were too small, fair enough. Then another said they were just fine and they definitely want to try, I let them and once again the beeping.

Pretty awkward when there’s like 10 people chilling giving blood and you’re the only one beeping loudly lol

Not sure what blood type I even am, so that’s a good a reason as any to donate i guess!

  4. I really need to find time to get back into this routine. I’m on 48 donations or thereabouts. Thanks for the reminder!

My CMV negative blood is usually in demand.

  5. I wanted to donate especially with iron lung recently coming out but I can’t with my medications apparently πŸ˜”

  6. Remember that everyone who donates is a hero to someone, but please also take care of your own health when donating.

Dammit I’m 0- and I want to donate! First I was English. Then I was trying for a child. Then I was pregnant and now I am breastfeeding. Hopefully the stars align soon.

Please donate! I wish I could however I had a blood cancer when I was younger that rules me ineligible. I contact them every few years to see if I can but they say I can’t as they just don’t have enough evidence that my blood would be safe to give to someone.

  9. I am sorry that I can’t donate fast enough πŸ˜‚. Having the automatic schedule deal with future dates is super handy however! I am due next weekend, πŸ˜‰

  10. I’m O- but also have tested positive for CMV previously. I’m also breastfeeding (a toddler) if that matters.

Problem is everyone has trouble getting blood when I need a test except the most experienced older ladies.

Should I try to donate? I’ve been told they won’t want me to.

  11. AB+ here, I have my 4th plasma donation booked for Sunday next week. I wish more people did it.

Please donate if you can! I’m 0- but sadly cannot donate as I’m still in the exclusion period as I had stage 4c bowel cancer. I needed several blood transfusions during my three years of cancer treatment and surgeries, and I was always immensely grateful for people like you πŸ’›.

  13. I’m O Negative! And I want to donate but I gave birth 3 weeks ago (not currently breastfeeding, sadly). Is there a time I have to wait or does anyone know if I can give blood now?

  14. I just booked my first one, and I can it’s booked on the β€œHome” page in the app lets me edit it and everything. But when I click the β€œbook” tab I have a β€œthank you” at the top and then a message saying I may not be able to donate right now and need to live chat or call them
