    1. That is by design, not a flaw. Rich people help other rich people, screw everyone else.

    2. Look can everyone just stop looking at rich people to take back all your tax money from they stole it with perfectly legal tax loopholes setup by their peers through lobby groups!! You’re all just jealous!!

      (This is sarcasm…)

    3. BBC presenter highlights astounding ignorance of one of the Tories main goals of being in power.

    4. This is all the Tories have ever done when they get into power. How are people still surprised?

“highest income” people aren’t rich, especially if they live in London as the article suggests.

If you’re on PAYE, there’s no escaping the middle class. Top PAYE earners pay nearly all of the tax as it is anyway.

Stop pitting PAYE employees against each other.

BBC commentator’s first time? this has always been the Tories policy, I’m surprised he acted so surprised.

Well yes, of course it does. Because. tax works on percentages.

How about we simplify the tax system, stop having lots of rules and calculations which cost money to implement and audit and just have a nice progressive tax system with more high bands at £150k, £200k, £350k etc. No NI, and have a principle that we should reduce taxes before we increase benefits (because taxing anyone on any sort of benefits is just stupid – it costs money to collect tax and money to admin be benefits)

    8. I mean, obviously someone who earns more money will benefit from a cut in taxes more than someone who earns less.

To all the stupid Tory/Reform voting fuggers, and I don’t mean the people that send their kids to private schools and have private health insurance, those are simply calculating and evil. You turds what do you think pays for the NHS, winter fuel payments, triple locked pensions, free bus passes, care worker not to mention schools, roads, borders, army, police etc etc etc? Tory tax cuts won’t pay for any of those

Is this not the 10 people going into a pub fable, where they all get a refund and then beat up the rich guy and can’t afford their round?

    11. whats this? tories being tories and helping out the rich? I’m incredibly shocked!

I could not have seen this coming at all!

    12. Not rich people. People who worl who have done moderately well for themselves.

It’s fair because these are the people who are already being rinsed to prop everything else up.

    13. People who pay more tax in absolute values will benefit more from percentage cuts. Why is it a surprise and how is it unfair?

When there’s tax cuts the wealthy get thousands ,middle earners get a few hundred and low income get little or nothing.
That’s the way it always is with tax cuts.
