I keep forgetting to post this but this walk was done on the 9th of January in order to prepare for my walk from the base of the Blue Mountains (Glenbrook) to Bondi Beach. It was during a 38 degree heatwave and I unfortunately was stubborn enough not to postpone anything. While I thought I was managing it well by drinking lots of fluids and pressing cold things to the back of my neck and armpits and staying in as much shade as possible to cool down it's clear that the heat still got to me in some way despite my best efforts. The heat also ruined my main charger and I keep forgetting to buy a new charger after leaving my other charger in a hotel near Kiama shortly after

I started this walk at 6:30am and didn't finish until 12:30am the next day taking me a total of 18 hours. I almost considered finishing it early because I wasn't sure if I would make the last train home so I gave myself until 11:30pm to get to North Sydney

Thanks for doing my exercise for me. I’m going to celebrate by eating 2 more hamburgers on the couch while watching TV.

FYI, tomorrow if you show your step counter with 25k+ steps at a Yo-Chi you get a free Yo-Chi.

  3. That’s really impressive. I remember your last post about the Penrith to Bondi walk. Great walking.

I thought about walking from Parramatta park, following the river and walking to Circular Quay but thought that was not possible.

Well you walked from Rhouse Hill which is further and more impressive so guess my initial idea is doable after all.

Whhhhhhhhy? Especially when there’s so many great (long) walks in and around Sydney.

  6. Did you walk all night? Just thinking about this gives me chafing and heat exhaustion. Edit to say: Well done.
