It’s disheartening to know if a lime bike damages your parked car, they expect you to fix it at your own expense. I know my cars older and has some pre-existing damage so I’m not as upset as I might have been if my car was in a good condition. Beware if your property is damaged by their very heavy bikes, you might be shit out of luck.

This is like getting angry at a locksmith if someone keys your car.
It’s like a goget car hit yours then you blame goget or the driver??
The riders should be required to have a rider’s license and insured already. I almost got hit walking on the footpath by a crusty old muscle queen and a morbidly obese millennial on lime bikes this week. It would be nice if they were required to have third party insurance.
I hate lime and their useless responses.
It’s just NSW things looking out for big business..In SA and I believe VIC too the share bikes and scooters all have insurance. The rider does not have to pay for it , it comes with the service.
NSW premier be like chuggg us a bribe and don’t worry about it
Try giving the “hot water, plunger” trick a go, that panel should pop back.
I don’t think a bike falling would cause a dint like that unless someone pushed it into your car with force which is very unlucky.
I’ve had friends whose car has been trashed by street trees (limb fell on it) and they had to front the cost to fix it which sucks.
A dashcam can be helpful in some cases where damage is done on purpose.
Where exactly is the damage from the bicycle in these photos? All I can see is a huge dent that has clearly been there for months judging by the rust starting to come through previously brushed on touch up paint.
If there is no active hire in place then Lime is responsible for the bike and any damage it does. Get some quotes, send them a letter of demand, then small claims.
Get a dash cam, so that if it happens again… you can submit to Lime the exact date and time it happened. Because they should know WHO was using it at that time. And THEY can then be held responsible by Lime for it.
That said… the bikes shit me. If I lived in an area where they were around and I found them infant of my place I would be putting them in bins.
It would be a shame if third parties started vandalising their bikes as they’re scattered like trash across our streets and sidewalks. Maybe their insurance company could step in.
Can you ask them how they came to the conclusion that it was third party or environmental? They obviously “reviewed the details” so they must have compelling evidence that they can easily share with you.
Fucking scumbags…
The rider is responsible. Is Toyota or ford responsible for how you drive your car?
Lime bikes are an absolute blight on our cities. I don’t even know how they are allowed. I’ve only ever seen junkies and teenagers riding them around too. Anyone who should be riding a bike, probably already has a bike, and if not, second hand is readily available and cheap.
And before anybody claims I’m being anti bike here, they are literally banned in Amsterdam. The most cyclist friendly city on earth doesn’t have these awful things.
i know somebody who was hurt after being hit by one and they dont do anything, never mind a car. I hate them with a passion.
Is Wiktoria a real name??
