I’m thinking to move my community to [Fluxer.app](http://Fluxer.app)
Any insights?

But guys! If we stop using Discord, Peter Thiel won’t be able to look at all of our messages and build a profile on us!!

Lets not forget the fact that Reddit also uses Persona… This fact seems to get conveniantly left out a lot.

Whoa whoa whoa…I was completely out of the loop. Guys delete discord immediately, I just did. I heard about the age verification but did not realise what they are doing!
Get off it quick quick, super quick. Hopefully it will be enough to stem the tide before internet2. We are less than 5 years away from being able to buy an Internets worth of comments and images for a pittance. There are a lot of people trying to wall off, control people and remove anonymity on the Internet before then.
It will be too late without rejection. There are no technical hurdles from a free and open Internet, but there is laws preventing it. And it will get worse. They can’t pass these laws without the infrastructure being set up AND EVERYONE BEING COMPLICIT. Then they can pass the “common sense” laws to “protect children” that actually just protect the business interests that were set up, and would essentially ban or make illegal creating an Internet 2 from the bedroom. Even if it costs 100 dollars and 1 teenager to do it, the ISPs won’t carry it unless they are forced to by the people.

Most countries in the EU have governmental SSO or way to authenticate as a citizen online that are far safer than what Discord and others are using.
SSO systems are like the login with google. They can only share your age or the required information. And for an age check then only the age is required.
Why not use that. And the government doesn’t even need to know it’s for Discord. That’s technically possible. And probably already work like that for many things.

100% of the people commenting here are already profiled.
You directly or indirectly shared info somewhere, or groups/people you interact with did etc.
You can bet there is a database of who you are, age, financial status, family, hobbies, address, health, etc already.
A bit late to panic over discord leaking your personal information.
All it does at this point, is make it more annoying to use and rise of shady bypasses/market for validated accounts.
