  1. Yes yes, we know its weird but customers tend to go somewhere else when you shit in their grocery bags.

  2. Hey no worries, our government is doing their best to make us rely more on gas again at the moment.

Oh, those damn Europeans have misread the message from Washington again. /s

The U.S. called for increased defense spending, and the EU did just that- but then started buying its own weapons, which drew an angry response from the White House.

The Americans urged Europe to break free from Russian  energy dependence, and Europe practically did- and along the way, decided it didn’t want to become dependent on the U.S. either.

And once again, the Americans are unhappy.

Hopefully, Europe will soon start breaking free from U.S. dependence in IT products as well.

American here: please do. We apparently need some humility.

Can’t say how it’ll play out, but with half the country thinking the confederate flag (basically our swastika) is a god-given right we need to be brought to heel.

  5. It’s only unfortunate if your geopolitical cudgels are reliant on energy and resource monopolies.

The “quiet part out loud” bit is found in the 2025 “National Security Strategy” document. Not to mince words, but the current thought model seems to be to divide the world back into “spheres of influence” dominated by 3 specific superpowers. The EU are intended to be vassal states of the US or Russia, nothing more.

Unfortunate but absolutely necessary. Same with tech or other domains. At least partially for now.

  7. Americans behave like an abusive husband. He slaps his wife and then complains that she is afraid whenever he approaches her.

  8. EU says US ambition to cut reliance on international partnerships, decades long friendships and treaties, and general decorum is ‘unfortunate’.

Letting a known pedophile run your country is “unfortunate”.

And even without that, the US cannot be trusted.

And even if the US could be trusted, reliance on external energy sources is a strategic weakness.

  10. Wouldn’t Europe just get gas from Canada and Mexico? I’m sure those countries would be more than happy to do more business with Europe.

EU must break free from the abusive relationship from US. EU has every right to exercise its FREEDOM is choosing whatever partner it desires for the long term relationship.

How to be a Trump administration politician in three easy steps:

    1. Go around punching other people in the face

    2. Express disappointment when other people start avoiding you and hanging out with other people or each other instead

    3. Repeat steps 1 and 2

American gas? Good idea. Considering they had to invade Venezuela to cover for their domestic consumption.

The only time USA had upper hand in oil distribution was when Obama opened “fracking chapter”. Feel free to Google how this impacted environment and USA environmentally. And what it actually did bring to the “oil” table (spoiler: almost nothing).

  14. EU thinks US recent steep downward spiral is extremely unfortunate. Not to mention unwise and self-destructive.

  15. >”I think, Commissioner Jørgensen’s comments are very unfortunate. The United States is a rock-solid supplier of energy. You can’t have a better partner,” Wright told journalists after closed-door talks with other ministers at the International Energy Agency (IEA) in Paris.

“We’ve never used energy as a political weapon. Never,” he said.

    It’s been a while since I had a good belly-laugh.

Salt of the earth, they are. Wouldn’t threaten to hurt a fly.

  16. How about stopping to school and insult us any given day? Reliable trade rules could also be a good idea. Just saying…

  17. Europe needs to be reducing its dependence on all things American, from LNG to device applications.

Just because Trump will be constrained somewhat after the mid-term elections and gone by by 2029 doesn’t mean the Americans won’y elect another moron as president.

  18. Why does the US think that America first policies wouldn’t inspire others, such as Europe, to have their own Europe first policies.
