584$ a month for your average Joe or 1062$ if you got mental disorders that makes working (next to studies) difficult, like severe ADHD, mild autism, anxiety etc.

That was the free money, and don’t even get me started on the low-rent student loan, which is even way higher.

  1. This socialist hellscape… :'(

Why would a country even want to invest in their citizens education? What could possibly be the payout?

  2. How bad does your country have to be intelligence wise that you need to pay your citizens to go to school.

Unlike Norway they aren’t just saving for a rainy day, they are trying to build a new economy from scratch today. They are betting that a highly skilled population will generate more wealth in 20 years than a bank account full of stocks. Vision 2030 is an incredible and ambitious strategy. I respect the Saudi way and it’s working very well for them.

In Norway you get 66 744NOK per year in support in addition to about 100k in loans.
Spread over 11 months (they only give it for eleven months) it is 6067NOK/month or 634$ USD.
