22 years ago on March 3, a young law student was shot to death with a single bullet in the head in Beyoğlu. The perpetrator has still not been tried.

22 years ago today, at 19:00 on the evening of March 3, 2004, a bullet exploded in Beyoğlu İmam Adnan Street.

When Önder Babat, a senior student at Istanbul University Faculty of Law, collapsed, the people around him could not understand what happened. When the morning comes the police "A stone fell on his head" he said. The stone was found and packaged as evidence. The prosecutor was not called.

The family insisted. The autopsy revealed a 9mm bullet.

22 years have passed. Not a single suspect was prosecuted. In murders with so-called unsolved murders, the perpetrator is actually unknown at all. It is not investigated, it is protected, it is barred from statute of limitations. Önder was 25 years old. He was studying law. This is enough for some things in this geography.

We commemorate him at the place where he was shot, at the time he was shot.
