    1. Warner should just close CNN down out of spite next week. Ellison wants a CBS-branded MAGA pipeline? He’s going to have to build it him-fucking-self. Lord knows he has more than enough cash to do so.

That’s an excellent way to tank an entire network. The MAGA echo chamber is already inundated with multiple propaganda networks and normal people aren’t going to be fooled.

I think we need to accept that CBS News and now CNN are simply gone, lost to the right-wing media ecosytem. So let someone pay a premium price for a brand. The credibility of the product will quickly fade, the right wing is dividing market segment, they will lose money on these takeovers, and it’s not like people are just going to keep watching when Christiane Amanpour is replaced by Nick Shirley and just think all is the same.

As consumers, you can walk away. You don’t have to to watch. You can support media outlets not compromised by MAGA.

    4. This is why independent media is so crucial right now. Support your journalists and podcasters right now that don’t bend the knee.

Racist and sexist republicans will control all “news” outlets and will post more lies.
Good thing people under 50 dont have cable, but all the bed bound old people will be brainwashed.

    6. Kaitlan Collins days are numbered, aren’t they? I also wouldn’t be surprised if a totally unqualified blonde is her replacement.

    7. Without viewers, these networks are powerless.

The easiest thing in the world is to do nothing, so don’t watch this garbage and let CNN further fade into irrelevance.

    8. Time to support independent media. Let them split views and take themselves down. Reason why Fox News was #1 for the longest time was because they ran unopposed.

So it’s heading toward a situation where all the media will be owned by the Republicans, and Trump decides what can and cannot be written, this will end up just like Russia.

I feel like if anybody is still actively choosing to watch CNN today (like me) they are completely aware of what has been going on behind the scenes for the last few years and know when Dana Bash and Jake Tapper are being disingenuous.

Oh GOD Scott Jennings is going to get his own show

    11. bad news for FOX, and good news for MS Now. I’m guessing no change for OAN and Newsmax because they cater to the lunatic fringe

CNN sanewashed this 80 year old psychopath through all of 2024 because his daily chaos brings them better ratings than a boring normal president would. Zero sympathy for whatever happens to them next.

It’s crazy how they control the news, but it’s clearly propaganda, only the lowest scumbags and idiots from the bottom of the barrel are going to keep sucking up to this crazy cult of bad Republicans and Trump. Either we’re going to turn into North Korea, or maybe people with reason will have torches and pitchforks and run the treasonous asses out of town.

    14. All this is going to do is make people disconnect from legacy media even more and make the hate stronger for rightwing bullshit. It’s so ironic MAGAs default setting used to be crying about censorship and yet here they are trying to suppress and control dissent

    15. CNN is just controlled opposition of fox “news”. There are better, unbiased news outlets

    16. The mistake here is thinking this somehow buys them more persuasion. I do not believe it does. The American public is already highly alert, informed, and in many cases hyper aware after being constantly sensitized day in and day out, often by values they do not align with and are very strongly against. People are not asleep. If anything, they are more politically aware of the world around them than at almost any other point in US history. Especially here in America.

If CNN ends up being labeled as just another Fox News, a large portion of the audience will simply tune out. That does not expand their reach. It shrinks it.

Instead of broadening influence, what you really get is consolidation. Same listeners. Same audience. Just an additional source.

That said, Iran, Cuba, and immigration are extremely complex issues, and they have challenged both political parties for years. Under Obama, I think 3 or 4 million were deported. And I could be off on that number a bit, maybe even grossly off base. The presidency is an extraordinarily difficult job. I respect the weight of that responsibility, and I trust that in the long run, the American people will remain the priority.

And, no, I am not asleep at the wheel or naive. I am like everyone else, I have grave concerns and serious doubts.

    17. Well, it’s too late to panic now. Media networks like CNN helped get us here by constantly sane washing Trump during his presidency.

    18. If CNN hadn’t been using kid gloves with Trump and his administration this entire time they probably wouldn’t be in this mess now.

    19. I mean, CNN has certainly gone downhill after attacking Bidens age relentlessly just to be quiet as Trump shits himself during every press conference amid demented rambling. Maybe they figured they’d be left alone as they were towing the line?
