Every trans person that I know of would consider the 2nd option to be extremely weird and an attempt to violate their privacy. It would be potentially used as a way to discriminate against you, even if they claim that it’s anonymous.

If done correctly (and not illegally) this data is treated completely separately from your actual application and actually intended to provide data on the applicant pool, which can then – at least on theory – be used to detect and reduce bias in hiring. So it’s actually supposed to be a measure *against* discrimination.
