America – We value the relationship with our good friend Australia
Also America – We will slap tariffs on you for no reason other than we can
Good maybe we will have more lamb at lower prices for our internal market
At the same that the import their hormone ridden beef ..
They made such a big deal about getting American beef into Australia, seems like a great target for 30% tariffs back, as well as anything aimed at red states like tariffs on Bourbon.
“Thanks for allowing US beef in Australia, but also go fuck yourself”
Maybe in response we can investigate our military cooperation with the US.
The USA is starting to make the Chinese tariffs of the Morrison era look reasonable.
I’d like to know how Australian and NZ lamb farmers have abused the US trade system – given the two countries provide some of the least support in the world.
That said, both countries should seriously reassess trade agreements with the US. They demand that we make huge concessions on things like copyright and still feel like they can break their side of the agreement on a whim.
“Hey USA, are you there mate? Go and GET FARKED MATE”
Maybe we’ll see cheaper lam… who am I kidding.
I’m actually over supporting some of these industries that equally rip off locals at any opportunity. Why the f can I buy Australian meat for cheaper overseas
Maximum cynic mode engaged…. “real” americans don’t eat lamb and a tariff is a tax paid by the importer and passed along to the end consumer. Therefore these repubs are not impacting food prices for their base, it will only impact “not real” americans and their weird food choices…. all the while sucking up to trump’s tariff obsession so they stay sweet with the magats.
The chops in the photo look fantastic, fat has not been rendered down to crispy nothing, the juicy burst from those bad boys will be incredible. I hope the chef and photographer had a good feed after taking these shots..
Can we divest from these chuckle fucks now?
It’s like we are in an abusive relationship and we just keep going back for more.
Good take the tariffs to 300%. Maybe, we in Australia, can finally get lamb at a fair price.
BFF
Oh rack off America.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the party of small government…
> The bill for a 30 per cent tariff, introduced by Nevada Republican Mark Amodei, has been referred to a House of Representatives committee for consideration.
> Mr Amodei announced his retirement from Congress earlier this month, a week after the bill’s introduction, and has been unavailable for interview despite multiple requests.
It’s incredible how blatantly corrupt they are. How much did he get paid to put that through one week before he shamelessly retired.
Hang on, didn’t Winston negotiate a great deal with the tariffs ????
This is where we decide not to have their beef imported to the country.
Is this where we unleash the Kekovich?
How about fuck America, someone else will buy it
Our long-term policy of being America’s submissive, obedient, used and abused mutt really is getting very old.
“Foreign competitors” allies. Your *allies*.
How about an investigation into US beef? Complete with a matching tariff.
It’d be nice to be able to afford lamb again. It’s not that I love chicken but it’s a quarter of the price.
They don’t need to worry. The value of the US dollar has declined 10% against the AUD in the last 2 years, along with most other currencies. As that trend continues, our lamb will become more expensive for them as a natural result of the decline of their own economy. The problem solves itself.
Ok, slap a reciprocal tariff on seppo pork.
I’m struggling to really grasp why imported au lamb is cheaper than locally produced us lamb for the us domestic market.
Wages?
Feed costs?
Transport costs?
Safety compliance costs?
Scale?
Genuinely trying to understand.
Just another distraction and bullying tactic. Ignore the orange toddler, don’t give them what they want.
Meh usa will tariff everyone else more than us so whats the problem? Lol
Tariff their big trucks and utes, its the only thing they understand. 30% would be a good start.
I live in the states and never see lamb for sale, let alone Australian lamb. I wonder if this would have much effect… Still, it’s cunty after the beef debacle.
Eat a bag of dicks (instead)
You don’t want our lamb? OK, GGF.
Pretty sure Canada are looking for trade opportunities
Can we just ban their meat again already?
Ok sooooo…..the US is gonna sell “lesser beef quality” 10% tariff to Australia when the US has a low herd crisis in its own country and Australia has the best beef on the planet…..I wonder how well the logistics will work out
Yep exactly what the morons would do:
While the U.S. produces some lamb, it does not meet the demand for the roughly 1 lb. per person consumed annually.
Main Import Sources: Australia provides about 75% of U.S. imports, followed by New Zealand at 24%.
Declining Industry: U.S. lamb production has decreased significantly since the 1960s, with production hitting an all-time low in 2023.
Key Production Areas: Despite lower overall numbers, major production states include Texas, California, Colorado, Wyoming, and South Dakota.
Market Dynamics: Imported lamb is often preferred by retailers due to lower prices (sometimes nearly 20% lower) compared to U.S. products
I don’t think it will matter. u know who eats a ton of lamb. china. they dont eat alot per person but they consume more then the rest of the world combined according to a quick google.
if the US doesnt want them, then im sure china will like them.
Funny because my brother-in-law after having lamb here tried to buy it in the US and it is stupidly expensive already. It’s multiple times the cost of chicken and more expensive then beef. Lamb is a “specialty” meat in most US grocery stores. Unless you go to a butcher or a your grocery is upscale and has their own in-house butcher you likely will not find it.
Australia I could understand, but NZ loves their lambs and look after them really well. Maybe a little too well in some cases…
Good. We’l keep it.
10 cutlets for 10 dollar! Yesssss
