  1. Ya know I honestly had some hope going into last election… I guess if there’s one word Labor aims for every election it’s “disappointing”.

Yeah I mean invading (insert country here) worked so well last time. Everything in (insert country here) is going well now and the people are so happy.

  3. I bet even if US announces it’s invading Australia, the Australian government will support it. No backbone.

    It’s just missing:

The brave people of <INSERT COUNTRY HERE> have suffered for too long under the despotic rule of <LEADER> and will rise up against him, welcoming us as liberators!

The free world can not stand idly by while <INSERT COUNTRY HERE> develops WMDs to threaten it’s peace-loving neighbour Israel!

I guess Albo mostly doesn’t want to explain to the Australian public that we won’t be getting our Aukus money back. Or the subs.

But we might get a Trump hotel & mystery golf course.

Funny how Albo just announced that he supports the US denuclearisation of Iran. He’s either out of touch or ingenuine. The US didn’t use that as pretence this time, because the last bombing was considered a success.

  7. Not defending Australia here but it’s pretty much the same for the entire west – Europe, UK, Canada etc – completely supine to the US with its foreign invasions. Reality is since WW2 we’ve all lived under the US empire kidding ourselves it was a benevolent force, for a while a “lesser of two evils” during the Cold War. Now it Washington finds itself in bed with the Kremlin – so the two evils are now joined at the hip and yet we reflectively continue to support the US, which ultimately won’t end well for us

  8. So, is the Australian government saying, we support the genocide of [INSERT COUNTRY HERE] women and children.

I hate Trump as much as anybody could and the dumbarses here in Australia that support him..

However I think Albos statement is a smart move..clever than most think. As his ‘hate speach laws’ did, he is clearly keeping the opposition wrong-footed.

Anyway, how does our opinion matter when see how ecstatic the general population of Iran is over the Ayatollah’s death,

  10. Can we stop pretending Australia has any influence in this matter. We are not involved and just put out some bog standard diplomatic statements with no real weight as to not annoy the US administration. Even if we condemned the strikes, it would not change anything nor would there be any more consequences for the US and the only outcome would be potentially more trade tariffs (or other trade measures) for Australia. Which is why countries just like Canada, the UK and several EU nations put out similar statements to the effect.

    Economic reform? Crickets

Housing access? Breaks out in a cold sweat

Government transparency? Shakes like a leaf

    Invade Iran? “Man of steel”.

This is going to be against the grain and I’m clearly going to attract downvotes…

But – remember that Iran very recently attacked Australia with the Melbourne and Sydney bombings/arsons.

I think it’s possible to dislike bibi and trump and all that they do, while also acknowledging that Iran are absolutely not our friend.
