In September 1939, the area of Grzybowska Street was heavily damaged during the German Luftwaffe bombardment of Warsaw. All Saints Church survived the initial siege but later stood within the Warsaw Ghetto and suffered additional damage during the occupation. The final and most severe destruction occurred after the fall of the Warsaw Uprising in 1944, when German forces systematically burned and demolished the district. The devastation was the result of deliberate actions by German units aimed at the complete destruction of Warsaw.
