Why it matters for the future is no matter how good AI is, it doesn’t matter if people can’t implement it. Today’s leaders have technology that past generations could only dream up, but they keep failing to implement in ways that add value

It’s the new “Big Data” or “Self Driving Cars” or any other thing you can hype to churn investment money so the investment classes can make money.
I don’t doubt AI will be an important future thing. I just don’t believe it’s as life changing as predicted.

This reminds me of an AI project I did recently in my ORG. They wanted pictures to have auto tags based on what is inside the pictures and we used AI to do that. The thing was, while what the AI put in the tags was technically true, it was functionally meaningless. It added no value making the whole thing a waste of time, worse yet, the tool had potential cost associated with using it. I’m sure it can get better with time but right now there seems to be a gap between expectations and realities.
