  1. That’s a pretty sweet shot, particularly with Mont Saint-Michel in the background

Proud to be French today. No bullied by fascists, riding a French plane with Rafale to protect, also French. Yey 🇫🇷

I always think about sunk cost when I see pics like that.

    Definitely aesthetic, though

  5. It’s good to see a European reaction.

Edit: looking at you Merz; pull ys together, Pinocchio.

  6. aside the peaceful landscape and the beauty of the shot it’s still terrifying where we are heading … and the more peaceful and beautiful the pictures of war are looking, the more terrifying they are … a good documentary is here [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orwell:_2%2B2%3D5](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orwell:_2%2B2%3D5)

Really dumb question from someone who is not military nor a pilot, bit aren’t those planes way too close to his? What if turbulence hit? Obviously these guys really know what they’re doing…but shit

  8. The new trailer for “Haut Pistolet”, the French remake of Top Gun, with the famous song “Zone du danger” playing in the background.

    Source on this photo?

Looks like a bad rendering from a video game or jets overlayed on GoogleEarth or the cameraman used a 2010 Nokia to take the photo.

Nothing an ineffective domestic leader loves more than war abroad and arms races.

And Macron was always a sucker for pomp and circumstance…

  11. Random question, I wonder if the 4 Rafale pilots are the best of the best, guys getting a bit of recognition, or just the 4 guys up that day. Just curious whether stuff like this boring for a fighter pilot, or a bit of a special, cool duty.
