What price was on offer to get people lining up like that? Cheapest I have seen since the bombs dropped was 1.89 with minimal lines.

Saw a 1.78 today but the 2.13 I paid is no different than any day before a long weekend – prices are always artificial the bastards

The price difference is like $20-30 max for a tank. Is that worth waiting this long for?

  4. The Apco I went to this afternoon in Ballarat was still at $1.54, and a line to prove it.

Are people really spending an hour to save $10-12? They’re valuing their time at like half of minimum wage lol

All this shows me and confirms that there really is a terrible cost of living crisis. Lining up to save a few bucks

  7. The panic, to ultimately save $10, once off. It’s not like every man and his dog are loading their car full of Jerry cans.

And filling up urgently now, if everyone had on average a half tank, that’s maybe a $5 saving.

IF prices jump ridiculously, you’ll have saved some money this once. But chances are you’re driving around enough that you fill up every 2 weeks. Then what?? How far has that “saving” really gone?

I accept defeat at the mercy of our oil overlords, and instead will take public transportation where I possibly can.

  8. God, we’re stupid! Let’s rush for petrol – which has run out how many times before? Short term memory issue – we need to remember every Republican president in the last 30+ years starts a war in the Middle East (without any plan on getting out)…and we’ve never run out of petrol before!

  9. Costco Epping was chockas yesterday, hasn’t been like that since they opened the servo. I think they have like 24 pumps or something too.

The shell on renver road clayton across from IKEA super center, is notorious for being a couple of cents lower than other petrol places, so much so idiots will form a line on princess hwy just to fill up and block all the trucks that need access to the mechanics down there.

And they wonder why trucks are blasting horns at them to move.

(Because you can’t stop on princess hwy)

Its total bullshit that petrol went from $1.49.9 on Friday to $2.15.9 in my area. Absolutely fucking ridiculous

When these lines start crossing intersections these are no different to vehicles holding traffic and waiting for minutes on end trying to take a prohibited turn when the detour is just an extra 500m travel and would have essentially costed lesser in mileage, fuel economy and mental frustration of all road users involved!

I filled up on Saturday as it was common sense that it will rise due to Iran being bombed.

  14. Feel like a fucking genius for filling up at $1.45 on Sunday, didn’t even have to line up!

  15. I cannot justify waiting in a queue to save ~$20, which money I could use for other essentials. If petrol is going to remain expensive, then I will just start using my bicycle more often, like I have done when I didn’t have a car.

My friend lined up for 20+ mins today, then got take away on the way home as it was too late to cook, Saved $20 but spent $60 on take away.

Thanks, Albo. No, really. Thanks for supporting another doomed-to-fail illegal regime change forever war in the Middle East. If I had wanted that, I’d have voted Liberal.

  18. Yep and I did mentioned that $1.49 unleaded 91 a few days ago. That’s all gone, only diesel left 🥲. And now it’s Atlas that has the cheapest fuel atm but damn.
