We all know that the old Spar Online worked just fine. But then apparently they paid some agency millions for "renovation"because why buy food normally, if each click can be loaded for 5 seconds?
I really had a lot in November. Searching the page takes so long that I cook spaghetti in between, but if you click "back"refreshes your entire page and throws you somewhere in space. The highlight is their basket, which is apparently deleted overnight depending on the moon or when the server is having a bad day.
Because I’m a programmer and because honestly sI hate going to physical stores among people (I just want to click and get my protein pudding), I wrote them an email. I nicely explained to them that their new frontend was a digital escape room and even offered them free help to get it right. Their official PR response? "Thanks, we know about the problems, and that our site is fucking shit." And that’s it. It hasn’t gotten any better since.
I took a little time (really, Špar, a little), did a little reverse-engineering of their GraphQL API, intercepted authentication and programmed my own Chrome extension. And surprise: if you bypass their desperate frontend, items are added to the cart in milliseconds! No loading spinners.
Then I went "all in". I downloaded their product database, added LLM (AI) to it, and now my purchase looks like this, I just write in my pop-up: "Hey, this week I would cook leek curry". The AI automatically breaks down the recipe into ingredients, finds the cheapest options in Spar’s database and throws it all into my basket instantly. Bam. Checkout. The end. Fak, it’s really not difficult.
Why you have to on every click "add to cart" respond with the ENTIRE basket? Who knows. What’s up with this search? Is someone looking for this manually?
Anyway, I am attaching the video. In addition to all this, while the server is running around looking for things, he makes you laugh with Špar’s breathing. And if anyone has a better online shop, just say so.

Lahko razumem tvojo agonijo. Ti si vsaj rešil, medtem mi ne-programerji še vedno igramo ta escape room.

Direktor online je dal italijanski firmi z dvema zaposlenima to nalogo da spremeni spletno trgovino in pa vse ostalo. To podjetje je zelo poceni, bugs pa glitches so sekr isti od novembra.
