At this stage, my suicide is never out of the question. If something happens to me, I don’t want it to be portrayed as suicide. Why am I being threatened with my child being taken away from me when I have so many medical reports and am struggling so much? Why are the people who should be with me standing in front of me? Is it easier to sacrifice us because we are poor and lonely?

After this whole process, it was revealed that her daughter was abused by her father when she was 3 years old and the child told her 6-year-old friend about the abuse she experienced.
After they immediately filed a complaint, an investigation was launched. In the report prepared at Marmara University Pendik Training and Research Hospital during the process, it was emphasized that the child’s “expressions were consistent and the child’s physical and cognitive development was compatible with his age.” Details that a child could not know were entered into the file.
The prosecutor requested arrest, but the court’s decision was the opposite; the father who abused his own child was released and even a one-month judicial control measure was lifted. Two months later, a Decision of No Prosecution was given due to “lack of evidence” and the file was closed. One of the two reasons for confinement was “the degree of abuse” and the other was that the child stated in his statement that he had told his friend about the abuse and the other child said “I am not aware of such an incident”. However, the statement called “6-year-old friend’s statement” actually belonged to the friend’s mother, not the child. While the statement of the 4-year-old abuse victim could be taken, instead of hearing the 6-year-old child, who was the key witness, in person, the statement of his mother was sufficient; Moreover, this statement was recorded illegally as if it were the child’s own statement.
The decision was objected to and a lawsuit was filed as a result of the objection being evaluated months later. The decision hearing in the case, which has been held in 3 hearings, is on May 5. The case has been reported many times. The news was even carried to the Parliament. In fact, in 2023, when TİP Deputy Sera Kadıgil asked the Minister of Justice why she was not arrested despite a report being prepared that Ayhan Şengüler had abused her daughter, the Presidency of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey removed Ayhan Şengüler’s name from the parliamentary question and officially censored him. Years passed, and once again the issue was brought to the Parliament. This time, CHP Deputy Hasan Öztürkmen addressed the Ministry from the Parliament rostrum and said, “The way the child’s statement was taken is illegal. It is as if a hand is watching over the defendant.” It was felt everywhere that a hand wandered throughout the file, and it continues to be felt.
While the judicial process, which has been carried out openly with impunity since 2023, has not brought a solution, the experiences of the mother and her child, who are trying to live a life under oppression and threats, have been ignored.
The Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Family and Social Services, the Ministry of National Education, the Ministry of Health and even the district governor’s office are responsible for the situation experienced today.

Due to the crises he had at school, the child, who is now 7 years old, has not left the house since November 20, does not talk to anyone, and his health condition is gradually deteriorating. The reason is negligence, those who do not do their job as they should, those who bow to pressure, and those who empty the state’s institutions.
Stating that she had to quit all the jobs she had after the divorce, H.Ş. said that somehow everyone quickly became aware of the whole story, even though she did not tell it, and that her job was dismissed many times, saying “we don’t want to get involved.”
He stated that as the hearings approached, he was also disturbed by the homeowner and was pressed with excuses such as “I will look at the house, I will see if you take good care of the house.”
The real issue is the school issue. While explaining that they could not enroll in the school in their neighborhood, he reminded me of the emphasis on “pressure”. Still, H.Ş. did his best to ensure her daughter’s education, and somehow enrolled her in a school far from their neighborhood. However, things did not go well here either.
For example, at the district governor’s office where he went to buy his child’s school uniforms and to find opportunities for work, he was asked if his parents were there, and when he said they were not, he was told, “So, you have done something very bad that you do not have your parents with you today.” When he said, “The state will take care of those who do not have parents,” he received the reply, “The state cannot take care of you, cannot find you a job, or will not help you.”
Because of the boy’s history of abuse, he always waited around the school while he was at school because he would throw a fit when someone touched him, yelled at him, or took pictures of him. He even warned his teacher to call him immediately if he had a crisis. However, not only was he not called during these crises, but he was also reprimanded for waiting for his child outside the school.

The mother reacts because the teacher and the school had previously warned her and her signature was given to the school administration stating that she did not allow her daughter to be photographed in any way.
H.Ş. said that the “class mother” came and went and looked at the child’s lunch box, did not pay attention to anyone else’s nutrition, and even offended the child by saying, “You are not in a situation, where does your mother find food for you and puts it in?”. Her child cried by telling this and similar stories when he came home many times.
When he started school, many bad things happened, such as being moved at least 5 times even though he asked not to change his place, or not being included in activities because he “didn’t have a father”.
The reason why the unauthorized photo shoot frightened the child so much is that Ayhan Şengüler took photographs and recorded them while torturing H.Ş. Because the child witnesses these, he thinks that he will be harmed and his trauma is triggered.
According to the mother’s claim, their pedagogue wanted to meet with the teacher after their problems at school. She states that after the meeting between the teacher and the pedagogue, they could not meet or reach the pedagogue and her daughter’s treatment was interrupted.
As a result of all these and similar events, the child gets worse. Emphasizing that her follow-up doctor also stopped seeing her during this process, the mother explains that she could not take her child to another doctor because he was under the control of Social Services, and that she could not make an appointment other than the one given by the state.

In this complex and challenging story, the most important topic right now is taking the child’s health under control:
“I cannot go and look at my child’s face. It is not possible for me to do nothing while my daughter is melting before my eyes. I will not surrender my child to this structure. I will not leave it to them. At the cost of my life, if necessary, I will die for this cause. Still, I will not give my child away.”
The mother’s last words are as follows:
“I go in the morning, sometimes I come back in the evening, sometimes I come back at noon. It makes me very sad to be alone there. Because a woman lives there. Most of the time, people leave without even looking. I mean, there are people who look, but most people remain unresponsive and leave. I cannot understand how a child is abused and the public remains silent. It happened to me today. Who knows how many children will suffer tomorrow? Because it is still out there.”
