This is over the Crown Lands annual land use fee that has risen for these guys from $660 to about $4958. That is in total, not per person. The guy says annual fees are about $300 and the club makes $8500 from membership, and about $30,000 a year in total. If those numbers are correct then those 28 paying members would have to pay an extra $155 a year.
Honestly they'd probably make that from renting out the place for a wedding a few times during the year. Or clear it in a weekend running a Bunnings Sausage Stand.

5K a year to operate on crown land seems like a pretty good deal for them. A big percentage hike isn’t ideal but only being charged $660 a year is a pretty outrageous deal
Just tear all these places up and put high rises there.

Managing the crown lease alone would be costing the taxpayers a few grand, this is basically the club paying for the admin.to manage their lease.

Surely members can stomach $100 more or so a year to ensure it can keep going? Seems like they benefit from the club..

Moore Park Golf course has 700 members paying no more than $3000 per year.
Currently it uses 45 hectares of prime land area.
Imagine converting that into green community space?

I’d be questioning why they only have 28 paying members and why they can’t rally local community members to join and share the cost. It’s taking up prime real estate near Cronulla beach. They could set up a stall this Saturday at Cronulla Street shops and raise the funds in a day.

Is it a wedding venue though? The club sounds like it’s a literal boat shed, with actual boats and equipment in the shed and no alcohol licensing.
