Surely if you were planning something like this, and wanted it that day, you’d make damn sure it was late enough that you could get back from any events you were scheduled to be at? They can’t be *that* stupid, surely?

It’s like watching a particularly inept ‘The Apprentice’ challenge.
I have no idea why he wanted so many debates and interviews. The itv one has probably put his party in third place. The sky one is truly a car crash. He’s being laughed at
I wonder if leaving early was an attempt to avoid leaks of any pictures of Sunak looking like he was being ignored/sidelined by other national leaders, that could have made him look weak internationally during the election campaign which obviously would be bad.
But if there was an answer to that worry, this clearly wasn’t it
It says it all really, the guy can’t even be bothered to do the job he wants to be rehired for.
Even when you look at the less patriotic party leaders like Corbyn, I genuinely believe they would have taken this more seriously. Hell, I think the leader of any party that has won a seat in this country (with the exception of Sinn Fein) since WW2 would have put more effort into attending if they were PM.
At this point I genuinely think if through some bizarre twist of fate the Monster Raving Loony Party had sent their party leader to represent our country at the ceremony they would have taken the job more seriously.
