I suspect this khachapuri was “enhanced” with mayo… I encountered this in India and Thailand: they sometimes put a lot of mayo into pizzas as an addition to cheese or even instead of cheese.

I have tried it in Norway, but they don’t use the correct type of cheese. Instead a mix of feta and mozzarella. It did not taste the same.
