Almost 200 years service isn’t bad considering what goes over it now compared to 1830s

That’s gonna be ugly the next time it pours rain and The Bells gets closed because of flooding…
Guess that’s what happens when you do next to no maintenance for a hundred years…

Bells is going to cop it now and not sure that is prepared to take on all the HVs heading that way. We need to quickly get past the idea of a heritage label on an arterial section of road like this, now we will cop the disruption heavier with minimal prior maintenance and monitoring.

Err.. Seriously what happens when there is a major bingle on Bells now. Can’t go Bells, can’t go Vic pass. All it needs then is a tree to fall on the train line or a freight train to break down as extra to be utter chaos.

Oh man, The Lolly Bug is gonna suffer real hard from this.

They need to get all those builders back ASAP to sort out their obviously shoddy work!

We’ve had nearly 200 years to prepare for this and what did the state government do? Put the tunnel upgrade on indefinite hold.

Why has no one drilled a tunnel straight through the hill to Penrith?

Convicts build it, the solution is easy, get convicts to fix it!

Don’t worry, this will get fixed quick smart. This road hosts the most prosperous speed camera in the state.

The entire Blue Mountains is a joke of constant speed changes, stop/start driving, school zones and local traffic mixed with inter-regional.
Build a fucking bypass tunnel or upgrade Bells!
“no timeline for when it will reopen” Excellent.
Hasn’t changed that much in a hundred years
