We may as well let them stay through the war if they want to. Why wouldn’t we if that’s what they want ?

  2. Keeping these women safe while the war is going on in Iran would require the sort of descency & humanity that the Australian Government has been unable to show for quite sometime now. I hope I am wrong.

  3. I would love to see them stay if they want, but I imagine they have kids, partners and other family they’d be wanting to get back to.

This is out of date – five of the woman have formally requested and been granted asylum this evening

My heart breaks for the ones going home – they will not be treated well

There isn’t a great track record for Iranians trying to return home following international meets.

Considering Australia has voiced support for the illegal war against Iran, it’s the very least they could do

These women face an impossible choice most of us will never have to make in our lifetime. They run and seek asylum knowing the repercussions that has on their loved ones and teammates. They stay and go back knowing the horrors they, their loved ones and teammates face. My heart breaks for them.

Seems ironic that we grant asylum (which we absolutely should) while actively supporting Israel and the US.

Iran probably going to be sending us some drones for our trouble if we give them asylum.

That said I hope they are all given asylum.

Loving the amount of Iranian experts here who have all obviously visited Iran and likely have eyes and ears on the ground. We are so lucky.
