So the usual, say one thing, ignore it do what PH to exploit what she can get personally

  2. *One Nation and Senator Hanson support rooftop solar as one of the few ways households can act to reduce their energy bills,” the spokesperson said.*

*“Of course, this wouldn’t be necessary if Labor and Steggall’s obsession with large-scale renewables wasn’t impoverishing Australian households with record high electricity bills.*

fucking staggering mental gymnastics to say those two things one after another

  3. i recall after i think tony said who would need even 50mbps broadband, turnbull chose a 100mbps plan when the NBN rollout reached his house.

  4. She also tried to sell out Australia’s gun laws to appease the NRA for money. She is a traitorous bitch who should never be allowed to stand for public office ever again.

  5. I bet her wanting to get rid of EV subsidies is going to be real popular over the next few months as fuel prices soar.

  6. Well yes, fuck Hanson but I don’t see how this is hypocritical. I want the government to end the capital gains tax discount, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to voluntarily pay extra tax on capital gains so long as it’s there.

  7. Paints a pretty clear a picture of what she stands for as a politician. Happy to benefit and enjoy the spoils but will pull the ladder up after herself.

    What a grifter.

  8. Pauline Hanson is helped by Gina Rinehart.

Gina Rinehart also uses solar panels for her businesses despite advocating against it.

I must say I’m enjoying the scrutiny that comes with additional voter support

  10. If I were a journalist, I’d be camping out to see what vehicles the Sky presenters are driving. They’ve spent well over a decade now turning what powers your vehicle into a culture war issue; they belittle any policy to promote EV’s as out of touch, they decry them to be a security issue.

Well how is that foreign oil security working out?

You cunts have made your bed, don’t stop driving your petrol SUV now. Don’t start crying for fuel subsidies, you’ve set this country back half a dozen years with your propaganda. Enjoy it.

I have no issue with this. The reverse would hold true as well; if there was a fuel subsidy, you’d be dumb not to take it despite an agenda to promote EVs (or in my case, active travel).

There’s government money on the table, so take it. Just because you disagree with the policy, you should not shoot your own legs off.

That said Pauline Hanson is still a racist snake and a scourge on Australian politics. I’m deeply embarrassed for Queensland and our country that she is polling as high as she is.

  12. oh cool by this logic coal/gas subsidies should be massively reduced too right?

    coal/gas subsidies – 15b a year, 60% of power generation

renewable subsidies – 2b a year, 30% of power generation

  13. So? A person can have a policy position and yet quite reasonably follow the law as it currently stands.

The guardian, again giving all the oxygen in the room to one nation. This is really a nothing story. The rebates are included in the bill when installing any solar or batteries.

Is the guardian going to write stories about greens senators claiming negative gearing and cgt rebates while railing against them?

This is a legitimately bizarre article. The two schemes are entirely different.
