I see this as a certain moment in the history of the culture (and political culture) of our country and therefore decided to publish here part of Davíð Oddson’s funeral for some kind of preservation.

Davíð Oddsson, born January 17, 1948, died March 1, 2026) was mayor of Reykjavík 1982-1991, prime minister of Iceland 1991-2004, foreign minister of Iceland 2004-2005, central bank governor 2005-2009, and editor of Morgunblaðinn from 2009 to March 1, 2026. Davíð was chairman of the Independence Party 1991-2005.
