Cigarette beetles theyre a nightmare to get rid of

Got a wheatbag heat pack in the kitchen? I had an infestation once and they were inside one of those.

I had to open all containers I had in my cupboard to make sure everything is gone. If It went inside, I just throw the whole thing away.
Then I wipe clean the cupboard, especially the nooks and crannies like hinges cause they’ll go back if you left some behind

When I was a kid, my Dad tried to get me to eat some. He told me it was milo. Thankfully I did not believe him.

Check animal food/treats and cereal boxes.

Insecticide is not the remedy no amount of insecticide will resolve the issue without finding the infested product and discarding or freezing to kill the larvae and these are cigarette beetles/drugstore beetles

We get them in our tea every now and then. Then we find them in our flour and it gets worse from there. Go for a good dig in your pantry.

I get these in my weed sometimes if I leave a tub or bag open 🤷🏼♂️

I hate these things. My old housemate bought me a used chair and they had infested it.

I get these too and have no idea where they come from or why they’re in my flat. I always wanted to ask what they are but I can never get a good photo because they’re so small.

I call them weevils but unsure if that’s what they actually are

Omg thank you for asking this question. I’ve just had to nuke our teabag drawer. Their favorites we’re peppermint and lemongrass and ginger. Who knew?

Keep your wheat, flour, pasta, etc. in sealed containers – once they find their way in they will keep radiating out. They love dry starchy stuff. Time to clean out the kitchen cabinet and doing some clever repackaging of the stuff that doesn’t have them.

What you have us a nightmare. What you heed is to burn the house down

Had them in the pantry a year ago. Had them come back mid Feb. Threw out everything in the pantry that they could have been in again. Found them in a wheat bag under my bed in the end. Threw it out, did the big bedroom clean. They kept coming. Turns out they thrive in kitty litter. They went from the wheat bag to the litter. Double check if you have cats. There were so many in the box I could see them crawling around 😭

Either baby cockroaches or drugstore beetles. The beetles go for grains, flour and mustards etc. i had a massive infestation in my pantry, had to throw out all flour, tuns of mustards and corn flakes and rice bubbles. Cleaned up all droppings and eggs and now im down to hunting down one a week or so..

To get rid of these I took all the food out of my pantry inspected everything for bugs (chucked lots of food in the bin).
Then seal every package that doesn’t have bugs and go flea bomb the cupboard or insect spray, they’ll all come out and die.
Since the packaging is now sealed any leftovers will die of starvation.
