The Lombard entrepreneur
The profile that has emerged in the last few hours is that of a wealthy Lombard managera man with a high standard of living who, in the 1990s, invested part of his wealth to secure a place on the hills surrounding the Bosnian capital. According to the investigative hypothesis, the man was part of the group of «rich and bored» willing to pay significant amounts for the opportunity to targeting defenseless women and children through the streets under siege. His own stories would have betrayed him: an acquaintance told the investigators how the entrepreneur personally boasted of the expeditions, describing them as adrenaline-filled journeys made to «feel the thrill of killing».
The Milanese network of “weekend snipers”
The investigation, which arose from the writer’s complaint Ezio Gavazzeni and supported by lawyers Nicola Brigida and Guido Salvini, is rebuilding a methodical network that had its main hubs between Milan and Trieste. The departures took place on Fridays from a warehouse on the outskirts of the Lombardy capital, with the support of a security company that acted as cover. In this criminal environment, the shooters were code-defined as “archers”, while the inhabitants of Sarajevo were considered simple “deer” to be shot down in exchange for money, with fees that increased if the target was a child or a Bosnian soldier.
Who are the other suspects?
In addition to the Lombard manager, the list of suspects includes the eighty-year-old from Friuli Giuseppe Vegnaduzzo and a man resident in central Italy. While the entrepreneur represents the profile of the “boredom traveler”, the other two suspects seem to be driven by a far-right ideological fanaticism. Vegnaduzzo, already questioned by the magistrates, he denied all charges claiming to have never set foot in Bosnia, despite some previous statements to the bar and colleagues seeming to confirm the opposite. Even though thirty years have passed, the Prosecutor’s Office is finding significant evidence thanks to a shower of reports and testimonies which are allowing the pieces of this black page in Italian history to be put back together.

Puttanate. Passati 30 anni non riusciranno mai a mettere insieme un caso che possa reggere in tribunale. Cioè al massimo che prove possono ottenere? Tizio si è vantato con gli amici al bar ed effettivamente era in bosnia in quel periodo. Con questo non ci fai nulla. Bisognerebbe raccogliere prove in Bosnia-Erzegovina, ammesso che ne siano rimaste.

Quello che mi rattrista di più è che nessuno di questi animali soffrirà alcuna conseguenza. Ormai saranno tutti vecchi, tempo che li legano e li processano non si fa nulla.
