    Food scanning app, hidden ingredients and healthy alternatives (Fiku)


    Hello r/mkd!

    I’m a local designer/dev and recently launched the Fiku app. I started the idea because I wanted to know exactly what ingredients are in the food I buy for my daughter, and it slowly grew into something bigger.

    What it does: You scan a barcode and it tells you exactly what’s inside in plain language, giving a grade and detecting hidden additives (over 5,200 local products are already in the database).

    New options:

    • Allergies and preferences: You can enter your health preferences or allergies, and the app alerts you if a product isn’t for you.
    • Better alternatives: If a product has a bad rating, Fiku suggests healthier options available in the market.
    • AI Analysis: You can track your daily food consumption, and the latest AI models analyze your diet and habits.

    Price transparent: the first 5 scans are free to try. Then it costs MKD 50 per month (or MKD 500 per year) just to cover the cost of servers and AI tools.

      Топ идеја според мене за сите шо си пазат на храната а и цената е скроз фер дури и ниска доколку функционира како шо треба.
      Прашање, дали работи само со продукти од Македонија или функционира на било кој баркод?

      Дизајнер си или дев, native или cross platform користеше за имплементација?

      Одлично. Супер апликација е ова и браво за иницијативата. Единствена забелешка ми е монетизирањето. Ме нервира кога алатки што се наменети за подобрување на здравјето се платени. Подобро би било да има опција да гледаш реклама за да отклучиш 2-3 скенирања од ова.

      Stavena ti e samo za region MK? Stavi ja vo posirokiot region, mnogu nasi proizvodi se prodavaat niz EU. I ima mnogu nasi iselenici koi bi platile 50mkd za ova :). Ne mi e na mk region telefonot inaku bi ja simnal.
