Not enough shopping upstairs. Got Queens Plaza and Uptown. What does this place actually have?

Better increase rents, that’ll fix it!

I heard they were waiting until all the current leases had ended and then were wanting to develop the site into a commercial high rise? Absolutely insane seeing as how much offices are empty for months if not years on end

Has woka woka closed? I think that’s its name
I worked nearby a few years ago and went there a lot

Free lease the empty kitchens to TAFE and have people learning to cook or something like that. Host cooking classes or something as these dead zones become a downward spiral.

They’re closing down the centre for a major renovation, so they’re running out everyone’s leases.

No one say anything about how it’s the best place to find a toilet in the whole CBD. Quietest and cleanest loos. No one say anythin…

That carvery was good. I miss that place.

I heard from a previous tenant that the lease was about $6000/wk, just for a small kitchen. That’s not leaving much room for margins.

What happens when super funds buy commercial property. RIP economy.

It’s a cleaner version of McWhirters.

The homeless should start camping there that might force them to do something with the place

This is really sad. When I was still in high school back (06′ grad) this was still a cheap food haven. You could get a large Hanaichi (Chicken Curry) for like $8 with extra rice and sauce (at no extra charge). There was also a decent sushi place next to it. I spent a lot of my high school and uni days at this food court because it was still affordable.

I got it, throw in a good 15 more paint and sips

I used to love the carvery place there. Best roast meat and gravy sandwiches around. They were there for decades! 😥

Its a knock down and full rebuild with the Hilton

As far as I can remember, the winter garden has always been a lemon of a centre.

Used to have a dynamite baked potato place there, was very sad when they closed

You couldn’t move in there back in the day, so much variety. How Brisbane got the best city In the world blows my mind. To think a shopping centre had a roller coaster 7 floors up now that was cool

Aren’t they just running out the leases to renovate? This has been happening for the best part of a decade now.

The CBD’s problem is there is too many little shopping centres in a small area.
Uptown, queens plaza, winter garden, mcArthur central all in an area smaller than Melbourne Central in Melbourne.

Sssssshhhhh. That’s the best office in the CBD.

Turn it into temporary accommodation for the countless people living in their cars and on the streets due to the rental crisis.
